I believe that what makes you a traveller rather than a visitor is your ability to seek out realness. Real culture, real adventure, real stories. I’m tired of people trading the same stories about how they went to Sri Lanka and went to the same cafe, on the same beach, and did the same tour, just because it was on trip adviser.
When I go to places I find the unexplored mountains, the less trodden paths and the places where tour groups don’t go. You’ll often find that just off the beaten track is where the real adventure happens: the secret beach where local wrestling matches happen, the bamboo forest where the fireflies live, the volcano where Masai will let you live in their mud huts; these are the places where you cross the line from being a tourist, to being a local, and this is what this blog is about.
